Asking yourself what is the problem that you need help solving sounds straight forward, but it can be very challenging to understand what is the source of any issues with your space. We can offer help with that too.
Sometimes it is a technical issue, a lack of space, a lack of organization or deeper problems with getting around and using your space in a way that is useful to you and supports your needs as a family. Once budgets, schedules and other logistics start to be brought up it can be too many issues to sort out and may feel overwhelming to begin.
We always start with a set of questions, these include the three fundamentals. We ask first, what is your scope? This means, what work do you need to do? It can include what you want or wish for, but understanding for yourself what are critical concerns is helpful. Then, what is your budget? Last, what is your timeline? The quality of the work and amount of custom design and building are also tied to these three elements. If you have a lot to do, it will affect your budget. If you want it done very quickly, this too adds to your cost. These don't need to be worked out beforehand, but will unfold in the design process. It is important to have an idea as a starting point.
We talk this out with you. We also work to understand what is needed to change in order to figure out where you can put your time, money and energy to achieve what you need.
You probably have questions. We are here to guide you and offer support.
